Artist Princess Emiyah

The artist is a global citizen born in the USA in the 1980s who has a diverse creative background that includes poetry, short stories, and visual arts. Her work is characterized by colorful, introspective portraits that explore the interplay of light and shadow, alongside nature-inspired images that favor an abstract approach over detailed realism. She views creating as an experiment of self-expression. Her skills are a mix of formal training and self-taught methods. Utilizing oils, watercolors, and charcoal, she embraces traditional methods but also enjoys allowing intuition to encourage self-expression.

Influenced by the rebellious spirit of rule-breakers, punks, and adventurers, she draws inspiration from contemporary artists like Tim Okamura, as well as pop art styles. Additionally, her work is enriched by the techniques and aesthetics of traditional artists such as Monet, Manet, Klimt, John Singer Sargent, and Andrew Wyeth. Through her art, she invites viewers to engage with the vibrant and introspective themes she passionately explores.
